Fair Housing Makes US Stronger...
There is no America without diversity.
There is no community without unity.
There is no justice without equality.
Our country’s vibrant mix of cultures is what makes us great and gives us strength. It makes us who we are. April 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. We recognize that any progress made stands on the shoulders of generations that preceded us. People that marched in unwelcome cities, protested in contentious environments, challenged discriminatory practices and fought quietly in legislative sessions and community gatherings. And we understand that there’s still work to do. Today we work to address continuing discrimination and to protect the LGBTQ community in the Fair Housing Act. We work for the day when everyone will have the opportunity to experience the American dream. Boise Regional REALTORS® joins NAR in commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. From NAR’s Fair Housing website:
The commemoration will focus on three key elements of Fair Housing
Acknowledging the organization’s past role in the fight for fair housing;
Understanding how we as a nation are constantly improving our commitment to fair housing; and
Embracing REALTORS®’ role at the forefront of advancing fair housing, leading efforts to address community fair housing issues.
